SIDNEY HORACE REDGRAVE - OBITUARY

November 29, 1918 - July 8, 2013

Redgrave, Sidney H. (Veteran of WWII, 48th Highlanders, Past Master Prince of Wales Lodge #630, Past Grand Steward and Past President Director Mrisela Shrine)

 

Peacefully with his devoted daughters at his side on Monday, July 8, 2013 in his 95th year. Predeceased by Isabel, his loving wife of 67 years. Much loved father of Phyllis (Richard) Hunwicks and Joyce (Richard) Pake. Proud Grandpa of Steven (Anna) Hunwicks, Jonathan Hunwicks, Robert Pake and David (Nala) Pake. Doting Great Grandfather to Adam Hunwicks. Predeceased by his only brother Bill Redgrave. Lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Gladys Ratcliff, his niece Wendy Ratcliff-Lake (Jim Lake), their children Jamie and Alana and his nephew Allan Ratcliff (Maggie Temchuk). Sid was a proud Canadian, who fought with the 48th Highlanders from 1939 – 1945. He retired from CCM (Weston) in 1982 after 44 years. A life long member of the Anglican Church, he served as Rector’s Warden at St. John’s, Weston and St. Matthias, Etobicoke. Together with Isabel, he loved travelling the globe, camping and attending Shrine conventions and events. Sid was committed to community service and his fellow man. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to his friends for their many kindnesses toward him, especially in the recent years.

 

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston, on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m until the time of service in the Chapel at 11a.m. 

Private Interment to follow. 

A Masonic Service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m.
