CHARLES ANGELO SANTORO - OBITUARY

March 30, 1925 - April 1, 2012

Santoro, Jr., Charles A. (Charlie), 87, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of South Ozone Park, Queens, NY, went home to be with Jesus on Palm Sunday, after a courageous struggle with kidney/heart failure. Charlie was a brave, decorated WWII US Marine Veteran of Iwo Jima (Corporal First Class). He was a 29-year career NYPD Detective (100th Precinct), before retiring to Boca Raton in 1988. Charlie leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Carmela (Millie), daughters Virginia Santoro, Charlene (Tony) Velez, Donna (Dave) Bowman, grandson Andrew Velez, granddaughters Chelsea and Allison Bowman, brother Pasquale (Virginia) Santoro, nephews, nieces, and countless friends both near and far. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Sr., mother Vincenza, brother Anthony (Doris) Santoro, and sister Ann (Charles) MacCormack.He was a devoted husband and father, a thoughtful, gentle man who is already sorely missed by all who were blessed to know him.
